ShelfScout ("the App") is operated by Teal Nebula, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and display name. This is used to create and identify your account — nothing else from your Google account is accessed.
We store the following data in your cloud library:
Your information is used solely to provide the ShelfScout service — displaying your library, syncing it across your devices, and enabling features like search and filtering. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
When you use the shelf scanning feature, photos you take are sent to a secure processing endpoint for book spine recognition. Images are analyzed in real time and are not stored, logged, or retained after processing is complete. Scan results are returned to your device and added to your library only if you confirm them.
Your library data is protected by row-level security policies ensuring only your authenticated account can read or modify your books. All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted over HTTPS.
Your book library and account data are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@tealnebula.com. We will process verified deletion requests within 30 days.
ShelfScout is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
