Terms of Service

Plain-English summary: DaddyBall Detector is an entertainment and informational tool. It runs math on the data you provide and returns a score. It does not make factual accusations about any person. You are responsible for how you use and share the results. Teal Nebula is not liable for any consequences — including hurt feelings, confrontations, or team drama — that arise from your use of the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using DaddyBall Detector (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Teal Nebula, LLC ("Teal Nebula," "we," "us," or "our"), a North Carolina limited liability company.

2. Nature of the Service

DaddyBall Detector is an entertainment and informational tool. The App applies a statistical algorithm to data you provide — including player names, batting statistics, fielding positions, and lineup information — and returns a numerical score (the "Daddy Ball Score") along with supporting analysis.

The Daddy Ball Score and all related output:

Are generated entirely from data that you input or import. The App has no independent knowledge of any team, coach, player, or league.
Reflect a mathematical computation, not a factual determination, professional opinion, legal finding, or accusation of wrongdoing.
Are inherently limited by the completeness and accuracy of the data you provide.
Should not be interpreted as proof, evidence, or confirmation that any individual has engaged in favoritism or any other conduct.

The App does not investigate, verify, or independently assess any person's character, conduct, intentions, or fitness to coach. Any conclusions you draw from the App's output are yours alone.

3. No Defamation or Accusation

The App produces algorithmic output — not editorial content, and not statements of fact about any identifiable person. Teal Nebula makes no assertion that any coach, parent, or person named or implied in the App's results has engaged in favoritism, misconduct, or any wrongful act.

You acknowledge that:

Coaching decisions in youth sports involve judgment, strategy, player development considerations, and factors that statistical data cannot capture.
A high Daddy Ball Score does not mean a coach has acted improperly.
The App is a conversation starter, not a verdict.

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the App or its output to:

Harass, intimidate, threaten, defame, or publicly shame any coach, parent, player, or other individual.
Make false statements of fact about any person to third parties, leagues, governing bodies, or the public.
Interfere with any youth sports league, team, or organization through deceptive means.
Publish or distribute results in a manner that presents algorithmic output as factual findings.
Use the App in any manner that violates applicable federal, state, or local law.

5. User Responsibility for Shared Content

The App includes a feature that allows you to share your results with others. By sharing results, you accept full and sole responsibility for:

The accuracy of the data you entered into the App.
The context in which you share results and how recipients interpret them.
Any response, reaction, conflict, or consequence arising from sharing, whether emotional, social, reputational, or otherwise.

Teal Nebula bears no responsibility for any outcome resulting from your decision to share App output with any person or group.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. TEAL NEBULA DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. TEAL NEBULA MAKES NO WARRANTY REGARDING THE ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF ANY OUTPUT GENERATED BY THE APP.

YOU USE THE APP ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TEAL NEBULA, ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:

INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES;
LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES;
EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL ANGUISH, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM SUFFERED BY ANY PARTY;
DISPUTES, CONFRONTATIONS, OR RELATIONSHIP DAMAGE ARISING BETWEEN COACHES, PARENTS, PLAYERS, TEAMS, OR LEAGUES;
ANY CONSEQUENCES ARISING FROM YOUR DECISION TO SHARE, ACT ON, OR PUBLICIZE APP OUTPUT;

ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF TEAL NEBULA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, TEAL NEBULA'S LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. IN ALL CASES, TEAL NEBULA'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Teal Nebula, LLC and its members, officers, agents, and employees from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) data you input into the App; (c) content you share derived from App output; (d) your violation of these Terms; or (e) your violation of any rights of any third party, including any coach, parent, player, or sports organization.

9. No Professional Advice

Nothing in the App or its output constitutes legal advice, sports professional advice, coaching advice, child development advice, or any other form of professional advice. Do not make significant decisions — including decisions to report coaches to leagues or governing bodies, confront individuals, or take legal action — based solely on the App's output. Consult appropriate professionals before taking any such action.

10. Third-Party Services

The App's screenshot parsing feature transmits images to third-party AI services for processing. Your use of this feature is also subject to the terms of those third-party providers. Teal Nebula is not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.

11. Modifications to the App and Terms

Teal Nebula reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Teal Nebula regarding the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
